Jessica (Pospiech) Heltsley
founder
Early in her career, Jessica witnessed how destructive the court process can be for families, at a time when they need support and guidance the most. The adversarial process takes the control away from the spouses and often creates an environment that has long-lasting, negative effects on the co-parenting relationship and the parents’ relationship with their children in the future. Therefore, Jessica has a therapeutic approach to helping families transition through divorce. She has dedicated her career to utilizing out-of-court methods of problem solving, including the Collaborative Divorce Process, Mediation, Limited Scope/Unbundled Services, and Coaching.
In addition to practicing family law, Jessica is a Certified Professional Coach through the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC) and an Energy Leadership Index Master Practitioner. She founded “The Post-Divorce Coach, LLC” in 2019. It was apparent that closure does not necessarily come from signing the final divorce paperwork. Rather, individuals are facing a variety of post-divorce issues to process and they are working on rediscovering who they are and what they’d like to do in this next chapter of life. Jessica felt there was a lack of support/resources out there to champion these individuals post-divorce, and this is why she expanded her skills and founded The Post-Divorce Coach. Coaching is some of the most rewarding work as you watch your clients set aside consistent time for self-care, create and meet goals, and gain more clarity and confidence in different areas of life.
Born and raised in Michigan, Jessica graduated magna cum laude from Grand Valley State University with a degree in Communications. Go Lakers! Grand Rapids will always hold a special place in Jessica's heart. Thereafter, she graduated magna cum laude from University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.
Jessica is married to her husband, Robert, and they have two sons together: Liam Robert, who passed away unexpectedly after childbirth in December of 2020 and Barrett Parker, their rainbow baby who was born in March of 2022. They reside in Lake Orion with their quarantine rescue dog “Boodles.” Liam has forever changed Jessica and Robert. The pain of losing a child is indescribable; they are finding ways to honor their son through relationships and taking care of others who are in need/pain.
Jessica and Robert enjoy traveling the world, camping (glamping… let’s be serious), nature, quality time with family and friends, hosting dinners, breweries, game nights and Charcuterie boards.
